Arrowsmith Hydrogen Plant – Domestic
Arrowsmith Domestic is IGE’s flagship project in Western Australia.
The project is located approximately 300km North of Perth, at the intersection of Indian Ocean Drive and Brand Highway.
Location provides access to exemplary wind and solar resources, verified by Met mast and SoDAR at site. IGE currently owns 1905 hectares of land dedicated for the initial development and has access options to other land parcels in the area.
Initially, Arrowsmith Domestic will install 60MW of electrolysers to produce up to 22,000kg of green hydrogen per day. Hydrogen will be liquefied, loaded into transportation tankers and distributed to refuelling stations and emerging markets. Production plant will be powered by wind (~139MW) and solar (~65MW). Intermittency of renewable power will be controlled with a 20 – 40MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and grid connection. Grid power usage will be offset with Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGCs).
Once operational, Arrowsmith Domestic will be expanded to produce up to 41,000kg of liquid green hydrogen per day. Expansion will warrant installation of an additional 40MW of electrolysis, 96MW of wind and 42MW of solar power.
Arrowsmith Domestic will initially displace up to 115,970 tonnes of CO2 per annum, increasing to 203,998 tonnes after the expansion.
Revised EPA application for the first stage of Arrowsmith Domestic was submitted in Q4 2024.
The project is expected to come online in 2027 and will serve energy and transport markets in Western Australia.
